Robin Givens Talks About Playing Michael Jordan's Wife

Robin Givens: Well, I think just the story in general, it's such, I think it's a time when we truly need heroes and we can't ignore the fact that our children want and need someone to look up to, someone to emulate. And I think that he's really handled himself so, so well and handled that spotlight so well. And the story is just, you learn so much about his family and obstacles that he has overcome and where he got his sense of character and his values from. And you really get to peek in and see him kind of behind the scenes, and see his private family life a bit. And it's a wonderful story, inspirational story for everyone, and that was nice. Interviewer: Do you think having been married to a pro athlete in the past, Robin, helped prepare you for the role of Juanita? Robin Givens: I can't say that it helped prepare me because our lives and our experiences seem so very different. But one thing I did gather was that she really handles being his wife and also being in the spotlight and in that tough position so very well. I really think her being sort of quiet and his kind of protecting her is so nice. She has just such a quiet strength, and I really have to say that... That I really gained an awful lot of respect for her.
