Relay team of 4 ninety-somethings in Aomori sets 2 world records

Video footage taken on Aug. 29 in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, shows a nonagenarian relay team setting a world record of 9:56.36 in the 1,600 meter race for those aged between 90 and 94 years old. Earlier on the day, the four men from Aomori Prefecture also finished the 400 meter race in 1:43.69, another world record. The Aomori Masters Athletics association, which organized the event, will apply for official recognition of the feats through the Japan Masters Athletics federation. (Ayaka Kibi)
