The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Bernardo T. Odfina, who also performed the imposition of ashes to the faithful.The imposition of ashes is a symbolic act that reminds Christians of their mortality and the need to repent of their sins. During the ceremony, a minister or priest applies ashes in the shape of a cross on the forehead of the believer, while reciting the words 'Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.'
