Senator Warner challenges Gina Haspel over torture judgment at nomination hearing

Senate Intelligence Committee ranking Democrat Mark Warner of Virginia questions CIA Director nominee Gina Haspel about conduct during the Bush years under the Army Field Manual, she supporting stricter standards instituted since. Warner says if she is interested to lead the CIA he needs a sense of her moral code because of a potential of President Donald Trump could ask her to do something she believes morally questionable without a get out of jail free card from the office of legal counsel. Gina says her parents gave her a very strong moral compass and she supports the higher moral standard decided upon by the country and would never, ever take the agency back to an interrogation program, insisting the agency follow the law then and at present, which she supports and would not support a change in the law but would not put officers at risk by undertaking controversial actions again.
