NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 8: (INTERVIEW) Kelsie Whitmore #3 of the Staten Island Ferryhawks speaks what are her plans after she retires from baseball on September 8, 2022 in Staten Island, New York. She is the first woman to record a hit in association with Major League Baseball. Whitmore was the first woman to appear in the starting lineup in an Atlantic League game. Her debut in the Atlantic League was a pinch runner on April 22, and became the first woman to start an Atlantic League game on May 1, playing as a left fielder.
