Besiktas drew 1-1 against Monaco in the UEFA Champions League Group C on Wednesday evening in Istanbul's Vodafone Park. Rony Lopes opened the scoring just before halftime with a lovely curling shot after a defensive mistake by Besiktas gave Monaco a much-needed 1-0 lead. Besiktas answered in the second half, when Ricardo Quaresma was fouled inside the penalty box, allowing Cenk Tosun to strike the penalty to the far-left post in the 54th minute. Neither team was able to capitalize on the clear chances late in the match, and had to settle with a 1-1 score. Besiktas will advance from Group G tonight, depending on the other match of the night. If RB Liepzig manage to win against Porto in Portugal, the Black Eagles will be through after four matches played.
