Monks Finish Nationwide Relay To Commemorate Temple's 1200th Anniversary

WAKAYAMA, JAPAN – APR. 1: A group of Buddhist monks have finished the year-long walk relay across Japan to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of Koyasan Kongobuji Temple in the mountains of Wakayama Prefecture, western Japan. The monks have walked in turn since April last year across Japan to communicate believers here and there to celebrate the anniversary of the foundation of the temple in the 9th century by a high priest Kukai.
