Lush Agrostophyllum orchids cling to the trunk of a coconut tree. A phenomenon known as Epiphytism which allows certain plants to attach themselves to host trees (phorophytes) for physical support. Epiphytes do not rely on the host tree for nutrients but derive their nutrients from the air, rainwater, and decaying organic matter. Thus allowing them to thrive in diverse habitats.
