Sept 11th first anniversary

The Underwriting Room at Lloyd's in London falls silent as the Lutine Bell is rung in a ceremony marking the first anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. * The bell from the British warship Lutine, wrecked in 1799, was salvaged and hangs in the offices of Lloyd's in London and is traditionally sounded before announcements of vessels lost at sea or reports of overdue ships. It is now rung every year on Remembrance Day as well as to mark tragedies.
