Dickson Mounds, Native American Burial Mound

The skeletons of a family of prehistoric mound-builders (note the position of two of the adult skeletons, with their heads turned toward each other and bent downward towards the remains of a child between them) unearthed at a site known as Dickson Mounds, a Native American burial mound near Lewistown, Illinois, circa 1955.
