This harbour does not partake or share in the mercantile nature of that at Marseilles (though there are several lines of steamers connecting it with different parts of the Mediterranean and elsewhere), but has more of an element of pleasure about it‰ÛÓas, indeed, everything has in connection with Nice. Here one sees the yachts that have come round from England, either to take a part in the regattas, or to go on as extended a cruise as we shall make this evening sailing, and the varied bunting-that is always flying aloft gives to this port an appearance of gaiety not seen in many others.
