French Military Parade on Camerone Day

The French Foreign Legion celebrates the battle of Camerone every April 30th in honor of the legionnaires who fought in the April 30th, 1863, battle in Camerone, Mexico. On that day, a company of 65 French legionnaires fought tirelessly against the Mexican cavalry, and though most of the legionnaires were killed, the French refused to surrender, and the Mexican army lost over 500 men.
