Val d’Orcia saffron comes from the cultivation of crocus in the territory within the Val d’Orcia Park, in the municipalities of San Quirico d’Orcia, Castiglion d’Orcia, Pienza, Radicofani and Montalcino. Saffron is made exclusively from the stigmas of the flowers, subjected to drying, coming from the cultivation of the bulb-tuber “Crocus sativus”.Crocus is found in different colors: mauve, blue-lilac, yellow and white.Val d'Orcia is a large countryside located in Tuscany, in the province of Siena, east of Mount Amiata.
