Travel cultural exploration, the traditional fiber rice cake craft in Vietnam is called Banh Hoi or "Bánh Hỏi' in Vietnamese - Stock-Fotografie

On June 23, 2024, I had a trip to explore traditional fiber rice cake making at a small, old facility located on the outskirts of Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province. This is a type of cake made from rice flour, kneaded and ground into small fibers by machine. Then the craftsman will steam each basket of rice cakes placed in each cage and put them in a steamer at high temperature to ensure the rice cakes are cooked and sterilized, then it are packaged and shipped to the restaurant street and used during the day, there are many unique steps from mixing dough, kneading, grinding, steaming, packaging... and you know, the secret here is the way they mix the dough and steam, ensuring make sure the bread fibers are even, delicious and fragrant, cooked at the right temperature. Their names are Mr. Ba and Mr. Hai, two brothers who live in a small house and own this small, old production facility. They work hard and quickly, I can see the sweat of hard work. This is the first time I have witnessed each stage of the craft of making fiber rice cakes in Phan Thiet, Binh Thuan province, Vietnam.
