The silhouette of Haig Coal Mine on Kells Whitehaven on the north west coast of the UK. The silhouette is dominating the morning sky as the sun rises from the east. The pit was closed in the 1980's it now stands silent and empty, a monument on the energy coast it is the original northern power house the last of the deep mines which ran beneath sea Irish sea. Captured as the sun came up on 12/12/2017.
