Lorient shallots are a traditional, round shallot with rust-colored skin and light pink flesh. They are the result of 14 years of British breeding and are often used in kitchen gardens. Lorient shallots can grow up to 13.8 inches tall and 5.9 inches wide, and should be planted in full sun. They are mildew resistant and can start well in cold spring, even if the summer heat slows them down.
