600 Hikers Gather at Pink-Capped Mountain Peak in Oita Prefecture to Wish for Safety During Climbing Season

Video footage taken from the air on June 3 shows hikers who have climbed up to the peak of Mount Taisenzan (1,786 meters), located in Taketa, Oita Prefecture, to enjoy the pink Kyushu azaleas now in full bloom near the summit. About 600 people ascended the mountain, which part of the Kujurenzan range, as part of an event held by the city on the first day of the climbing season in order to wish for safety .
