2 Dead, 6 Missing As Heavy Rain Swamps Northern Kyushu

Two people died and six others were missing in Fukuoka and Oita prefectures on July 6 amid torrential rain that has triggered landslides, flooded rivers and forced mass evacuations in Kyushu. Video was shot on July 5,2017,Japan. The record-setting rainfall has pummeled the northern part of Kyushu since July 5 and is expected to continue until July 7. The Japan Meteorological Agency has repeatedly issued special warnings for torrential rain in Oita and Fukuoka prefectures and is urging residents to take precautions against landslides and flooding. The heavy rain has also spread to the three surrounding prefectures of Saga, Nagasaki and Kumamoto.
