Over 1.5 tons of marijuana smuggled via ship from Mexico confiscated at Istanbul port

ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - OCTOBER 11: Over 1.5 tons of marijuana found inside a shipping container at Istanbul's Ambarli port was seized, police said on Tuesday. Acting on a tip-off, the narcotics department of Istanbul police launched an operation, and confiscated the illegal drugs smuggled via a ship which set sail from Mexico to Istanbul. According to sources, the operation culminated after two months of technical and physical follow-up, and the marijuana was hidden in bolts of cloth.
