Congressman Hultgren remarks on Rohingya plight as monsoon season approaches

Illinois Congressman Randy Hultgren says on World Refugee Day that the Burmese military had engaged in what the State Department called ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya people in what the UN Office for High Commissioner for Human Rights had documented as a systematic campaign of mass rape, extruded judicial killings, brutal beatings and serious human rights violations, noting 7,000 Rohingya killed in the first month and estimated 700,000 fled to Bangladesh, concluding the monsoon season would cause more difficulties and Congress must hold me and more military accountable and provide necessary aid to meet the crisis.
