Puerto Ricans protesting Trump’s visit to Puerto Rico, Trump Tower, New York City

NEW YORK, NY – OCTOBER 03, 2017: Call to Action and Pro Libertad organized a rally at the 5th Avenue Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan protesting President Donald Trump’s October 3, 2017 visit to the island of Puerto Rico. Among the topics and obstacles mentioned in the rally were the islands economic crisis, the fiscal control board, and the Jones Law. People demand the cessation of the Jones Act because according to the demonstrators “The Jones Act limits economic relations with other sister nations”. "People are dying" the demonstrators yelled. The island was divested as a result of two hurricanes and they demanded the end of the Jones Acts claiming that suspending the Jones Act for "10 days is not enough". They ask for more hurricane relief, medical/medicinal relief, and helicopter food drops to remote locations of Puerto Rico, more U.S. military troops, etc.
