Palestinian artist al-Jabari's fascinating mosaic paintings

HEBRON, GAZA - MARCH 09: Accomplished Palestinian artist Muhammad al-Jabari (67) shows his mosaic paintings made of ceramic and porcelain fragments which he meticulously pieced together at his house in Hebron, West Bank on March 09, 2017. Al-Jabari who received top prize in 2012 International Muscat Fair in Oman tells his success story of how a retired teacher like himself excelled in the field of art and became an accomplished artist while showing around his almost an art gallery-like house. He says to AA reporter that as he doesn't like sitting idle he pondered over the question of what to do during his spare times when he had retired after a very long teaching career and came up with making mosaic paintings adding that he took up his art work by decorating the backyard of his house with the mosaic paintings he made. He tells that ceramic and porcelain fragments he procured from a porcelain shop free in the city are the materials he uses in the paintings adding that he loves piecing these materials together to create work of arts no matter how exhausting work it is. "I worked 70 days on this" al-jabari tells by showing a little vase at his hand. "There are 13,000 fragments on it. I worked on each fragment one by one before piecing them together. Its value is 5,000 dollars and I'll never sell it to a lower price" he says to stress how passionate he's with respect to his work of arts.
