Willie Pep and Chalky Wright in Boxing Action

(Original Caption) New York, New York: Willie Pep, who tonight won the New York version of the world featherweight championship from Chalky Wright, got his left jab working in the first stanza of the Madison Square Garden bout. Pep took a 15-round decision over the more experienced Los Angeles Negro. Here, Chalky is caught wide-open by the young Connecticut fighter whom he couldn't seem to catch up with.
