OSAKA, JAPAN - 2009/10/30: The Shinkansen high-speed train was originally introduced in 1964 just in time for the Tokyo Olympics. The original Shinkansen, or "bullet train", reached a maximum of 220 kph, though the new models can go as fast as 300 kph thanks to new technology that inclines on curves. The Shinkansen has various levels of service, the "Kodama" is the slowest version but at the same time most economical way of getting between Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka..
