Ibiza's Summer Season At Risk Despite Easing Lockdown

Ibiza would normally be swarmed with tourists this time of year, but, like its fellow Balearic Islands, it is still mostly dormant following the Spain's Covid-19 lockdown. In 2019, the archipelago received 13.6 million tourists, of which approximately three million visited the island of Ibiza. A federation of local small and medium-sized businesses (PIMEEF) estimates that this summer 80% of their ranks will experience a very significant or unaffordable loss of income due to the coronavirus outbreak.
