Singer Performs At Nursing Home During The Coronavirus Crisis
BERLIN, GERMANY - APRIL 29: Resident Waltrud Bornschein, 90, touches the glass of her room's window to make contact with caregiver Marine Lehmberg, who is wearing a protective face mask, while Lehmberg was dancing to a singer's live performance at the Hermann Radtke Haus nursing home during the novel coronavirus crisis on April 29, 2020 in Berlin, Germany. The home, which has a total of 195 residents, has seen its share of Covid-19 infections, from which eight residents have died. Of the 12 remaining infected residents eight are recovering, according to the home's manager. Local performer Alf Weiss sang a mix of schmalzy hits for two hours outside in the courtyard of the home. Some residents emerged with walkers or electric wheelchairs to watch and listen, while others looked on from the windows of their rooms as a few nursing staff members danced. Many senior care facilities across Germany have been hit with Covid-19 infections.
