(Original Caption) Noted Visiting Scientist Sees Unusual Moon Photo. Washington, D.C.: Professor Auguste Piccard, famous scientist who is continuing his efforts to climb to the stratosphere above the earth by means of a specially constructed metal sphere, is received at the National Geographic Society and shown the first photograph ever made of the shadow of the moon on the clouds. The photo was made by Capt. A.W. Stevens during the 1932 eclipse. Left to right Dr. Gilbert H.
