Gdansk Mourns Murdered Mayor Pawel Adamowicz

GDANSK, POLAND - JANUARY 17: Mourners lay candles for murdered Gdansk mayor Pawel Adamowicz near the European Solidarity Centre, where Adamowicz's coffin was laid to public view, on January 17, 2019 in Gdansk, Poland. Adamowicz was stabbed on stage while attending a charity event in Gdansk last Sunday and died a day later of his injuries. The suspect is a 27-year-old man with a criminal record who was taken into custody. The coffin carrying Adamowicz's body is to be displayed in the European Solidarity Centre later today, where the public may come to pay last respects. Adamowicz's funeral is scheduled for Saturday.
