The focus of the control is the monitoring of commercial freight transport as part of a safety campaign in collaboration with the German police and the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM). BALM (formerly known as BAG) is the German Bundesamt fuer Logistik und Mobilitaet (Federal Logistics and Mobility Office). With over 500,000 truck and bus inspections every year, the road inspection service of the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility makes an important contribution to increasing road safety and environmental protection.
