Torii gates of Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto, Japan - Stock-Fotografie
Famous for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto is the most important spiritual ground dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. There are paths called "sen-bon-torii" (tunnels of 1,000 vermilion torii gates) that wind through the hills behind the shrine. A torii gate is said to be the division between the physical and spiritual worlds. There are over 5000 torii gates donated by individuals and companies at Fushimi Inari Shrine.
