Lac d'Ilay or Lac de la Motte is a small wild-looking glacial lake located in the Jura department. The lake has the particularity of having a coastline underlined by a clear border due to the accumulation of carbonate precipitates ("lake chalk"). It is situated at an altitude of circa 800 meters and is protected as part of the Haut Jura Regional Natural Park.
