Forsythia is a genus of about 10 species of flowering plants in the family Oleaceae, native to East Asia. Forsythia plants are long-lived, but fast growing deciduous shrubs. They produce clusters of bright yellow flowers which usually come before the leaves, adding a dramatic effect in early spring.
