Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a hill in the center of Athens. Although inhabited from millenniums BC, it was elevated to glory thanks to its most prominent buildings like Parthenon, Erechtheion and the Temple of Athena Nike, which were built by Pericles during the 5th century BC.
