Picture shows the hills of the bottom Jura mountain range, the valley and the meanders of the Ain river as seen from the ruins of the Oliferne castle, in the Jura department. The castle was built in the XIIIth century by Jean de Chalon on the top of the Oliferne peak, at 807 m high. The ruins are freely accessible through a hike and offer beautiful panorama of the surrounding valleys, such as the Ain valley in this picture.
