The Reculet is the second highest summit of the Jura mountain range, culminating at 1718 m, near the frontier with Switzerland. It is only 2 m below the highest summit, the Crêt de la Neige, culminating at 1720 m. Both summits, and the hiking trail along the ridges leading to them, are part of the Haut Jura Regional Natural Park, a protected nature reserve, as well as the National Nature Reserve of the High Jura chain.
