Cologne skyline next to Rhine River. The three Kranhäuser ("crane house") are modern residential- and office buildings in the Rheinauhafen of Cologne, Germany. The shape of the buildings - an upside-down "L", reminds to the harbor cranes which were used to load cargo there in former times. Two historic cranes are standing as monuments in this area, when the harbor was redesigned as a residential and commercial quarter in the early 2000s.
