El Bierzo, León, August 15th The Montes Aquilianos are a mountain range belonging to the Montes de León, located between the counties of Valdueza, Bierzo Bajo and La Cabrera. Together with the Sierra del Teleno, they make up a mountain range declared a “Place of Community Interest”. Its valleys are home to beautiful villages, such as Peñalba de Santiago, lost in a lush forest at the foot of the Valle del Arroyo del Aro and the Valle del Silencio, and declared one of the "most beautiful villages in Spain"; or the village of Montes, both villages and the peaks that surround them are part of an area of the El Bierzo region known as Tebaida Leonesa or Berciana.
