American Flamingo - Stock-Fotografie

A group of American flamingos walks in the shallow waters of the Oviendo lagoon in the Dominican Republic, where they are breeding residents. Phoenicopterus ruber, is a large species of flamingo and is widely distributed throughout the insular Caribbean, mainland and southern Florida. Its characteristic pink color is acquired by the pigment obtained from the small crustaceans it eats.
