Safety Town in Naperville

In 1978, the Junior Woman's Club (NJWC) introduced the city to the nationwide Safety Town program and each year since the NJWC has coordinated, supervised, and staffed the program at temporary locations. The week-long program introduces pedestrian, bike, fire, railroad, bus, animal, and personal safety to five and six year olds. The Naperville police and fire departments, I-Search, Burlington Northern railroad and other community groups help teach safety awareness and prevention to children each year.
